We are seeking an experienced data engineer for our team. The ideal candidate would possess a unique blend of technical expertise to build data pipelines and an ability to extract valuable insights from data. You will be instrumental in developing, constructing, testing, and maintaining architectures to support data models and large-scale data processing systems. Your work will enable us to leverage the power of data to drive meaningful change in clean energy transition, clear air, and climate action for a secure and sustainable society.
Responsibilities
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems.
- Ensure systems meet business requirements and industry practices.
- Build high-performance and robust data pipelines.
- Research opportunities for data acquisition and new uses for existing data.
- Develop standard processes for data modelling, data mining, and pipelines.
- Integrate new data management technologies and software engineering tools into existing structures.
- Collaborate with architects, researchers, and IT team members on project goals.
- Recommend ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field and keen interest to develop best-in-class data systems.
Experience
3 – 5 years
Skill Set
- Proven experience in building end-to-end pipelines for large enterprise use cases and supporting machine learning model development.
- Strong knowledge of and experience with database technologies (SQL, NoSQL), data modelling, and ETL processes.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand requirements and translate them into data architectures and systems.
- Ability to diagnose and optimise database for performance.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in AI/ML and aptitude to build machine learning models.
- Familiarity with spatial databases and GIS would be a plus.
