Civil Nuclear Liability Bill (PB-3:8.4.10)

The government has recently drafted the “Civil Liability for Nuclear Damage Bill (CNLB), 2010” and plans to introduce it in Parliament. The Bill is to provide for “civil liability for nuclear damage, appointment of Claims Commissioner, establishment of Nuclear Damage Claims Commission and for matter connected therewith or incidental thereto." Several important issues have been raised in the public debate.
