Biography

Dr. King most recently served as Program Director of the Masters Degree in Latin American Studies at the School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University in Washington, DC, where she served as Visiting Assistant Professor in the School of Foreign Serving, actively participating in teaching and counselling of students in both the Landegger Program in International Business Diplomacy and the Center for Latin American Studies. She acted the Academic Director of a summer program co-sponsored by the OAS and the WTO. For eight years during this period, overseeing a course taught in both English and Spanish for government officials from throughout the Western Hemisphere in trade issues, covering both WTO and regional trade obligations. Her academic courses taught include International Risk Analysis, International Banking, The Digital Economy, Latin American Economic Development, Political Economy of Latin America, and Western Hemispheric Economic Integration in addition to introductory economics. She previously served as Vice President, Latin America, for the G7 Group, a small consulting firm in Washington, after holding the post of the Coordinator of SICE (Sistema de Informacion al Comercio Exterior, the Foreign Trade Information System), a quadrilingual Web site, at the Organization of American States. Prior to the OAS, she worked at the US Department of State on NAFTA and Latin American economic issues as well as trade-related Mid-East Peace Process negotiations, and in the International Department of Mellon Bank.
