Project Scientist in The Robotics Institute, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA, during 1993-4. He has Worked with the R&D team at CMU in jointly developing process planning optimization solutions for a Japanese Machine Tool market leader, in the area of sheet-metal bending machines, for the past fifteen years (1993-2008). Dr. Krishnan consults on projects with major Indian software companies, and interacts with local graduate students and faculty at The Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, on geometric-reasoning based problems, in a wide range of industrial automation, energy efficiency, sustainable manufacturing and knowledge modeling applications. His work has been presented at various international conferences and has been awarded several patents in the US and other countries. Dr. Krishnan is a life member of the Computer Society of India and has been elected as a Senior Member of the IEEE, USA, and has been included in the Marquis Who's Who in the World 2009 edition.
