Biography: Prof. Menon was the Scientific Advisor to the Prime Minister, Chairman of the Science Advisory Committee to the Cabinet, Minister for Science & Technology and Vice President, Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR). He has also been a Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha). He is a recipient of several national and international awards and honors including Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize, Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan and Padma Vibhushan. He was the Past President and is a Fellow of Indian National Academies, Fellow of the Royal Society and Academician of Pontifical Academy of Science.
